Importance of Habits
Why habits are important and what we can do with habits? I often thought about it.. Although we all learned about habits from childhood I never used any of those in my life..
But now when I have read about habits a little bit, I came to know that habits are very important, even the most important deciding factor of our lives.. People are not born with the unmatched talent of greatness, but they created that talent.. If you are like me, you cant accept this statement totally, as I feel genes and luck is definitely a factor in winning anything or losing anything.. But it is true that people Who did great things were mostly not talented at all.. As if they were they didn’t have to work so much…
We spend our lives thinking about doing something but we cannot do it, due to many reasons, but mostly they constitute of our excuses that we give ourselves to not work.. We always say about the achievement of others as they just did it and became a success, but we don’t talk about the hard work they put in it, every day for long hours for years to achieve anything.. As we always talk about how newton discovered gravity by watching an apple fall from a tree as if it is as easy to discover.. We never talk about those 200 pages of notes or calculations he did to prove gravity exits.. We always think people who did something great, did those without much effort, as history only remembers the success, it never talks about the unending hours of hard work and dedication put into it..
Habit is an important factor in hard work… Hard work singularly means working hard, it may have some impact but we can’t even feel it.. But when we do the same amount of work each day every day for years, then that hard work pays off.. So building that habit of working on the same thing every day is the key to succeeding in any field..
How to build habits has many scientific explanations which are explained in the book atomic habits quite well.. Mainly we need to build a cue and a process to work through it and reward ourselves after doing the stuff.. We have to make them a bit easy and satisfying to make us motivated to do it every day.. But to build a good habit means to break a bad habit.. When we try to break a habit, it is easy to create a good habit..
No matter what we do to form habits, it must be boring one day, the secret lies to continue doing it regularly although it may sem bearing, and the people who can work through it succeed..
Never say you are unlucky or not talented unless you have out enough hard work and effort as the person who succeded…
