Jack Of All Trades Master Of None
Jack of all trades, master of none..
We have all heard this phrase from ever.. I never gave any thought to this phrase, until very recent.. People around us, use this phrase mainly to denote the people who are doing a lot of stuff and do know a lot of stuff from a variety of fields.. This is however not a compliment, rather they say that the people who are doing multiple stuff at once, tend to be not good at anything..
This is our preconceived notion about a person who is excited about a lot of things.. However, this is not true.. As it may seem very relevant to some people as people who do a lot of stuff gets less amount of time to focus on specific stuff, so there is a chance they will not be a master of a single trait, like someone who is doing only one thing every day for years..
But in practical experience, it has been seen that the opposite happens most of the time.. As people who have diverted interests and try to do multiple things over a period of time tend to be more successful in any of the specific things, rather than the person who is only doing one thing..
Even the phrase also says- “Jack of all trades master of none, but still is better than master of one”..
We can take many examples, like Leonardo Da Vinci, Benjamin Franklin and any other people, who made any of our present-day advancements possible were the people who were interested in multiple fields.. They not only did one thing successfully but rather they did a variety of things at once and provided good and even ground-breaking results..
These people are known as renaissance people or polymaths.. They are interested in many things, and mainly they connect the things they are interested in and that mainly leads to something that is never before thought off..
I also think that people should diversify their personalities.. That is to say, they should try, do and hear and read a variety of stuff to get an idea of what they like.. At first, it may seem taught to do soo.. But it is not… You will be surprised..
