RED FLAGS
so recently I was consuming some YouTube videos, which were released at the time of COVID-19 I think.. I didn’t come across them.. but the video was about Red flags and Green flags..
so I thought about writing it in this article.. (bcz tbh I don’t have anything else to write about)
there are many things that seem problematic in American society.. I don’t know if it is the result of being rich or having all the opportunities of life in their hands.. but there is something really wrong with people there..
first of all, over-emphasis on gender expression.. people are mocking humanity and also each other just to talk shit.. there is no meaning in what they are talking about.. I am not saying people should do what everyone else is doing, but just that, there should be a limit to nonsense.. like you can be an eagle as a gender, but what value does your eagleness bring to society.. then why are you focusing on it??? what does identifying as an eagle or tiger have any value to the general mass…??? there are far more important stuff in this world going on.. like wars, people being killed, people not getting food, kids dying, kids not getting proper education, girls being killed just because they are girls, religious massacres, etc.. and there is these stupid, rich, privileged men and women are talking about being he/she/unknown/they/ eagle/ tiger/ bus/ car and nobody knows what…
in our Eastern society, there are so many things wrong.. we are traditional, we are poor, we beat children, we focus too much on education, we focus too much on superficial things, we focus on society… but isn’t it what kept us alive for so long??? isn’t it what made humans what they are today..??? we as a species came this far, just because we prioritized society, not ourselves..
and Although I agree, that there is so much change the Eastern, or oriental society can do, and can become better, but I still think, the absurdity the Western society is going through is not normal.. it is not in alliance with the growth of the human species…
so there comes the talk of red flag and green flag in men and women.. so the concept for the people who are living under a rock (like me) is that there are certain character traits that a certain individual finds, in their prospective partner disgusting.. as simple as that.. and they want to stay away from that person.. good.. people can have their preferences and they can choose to like whomever, or whatever they want, and also are entitled to their dislikes…
but the problem starts when this thing is in social media.. generalizing some characters in gender as red flags.. one may think, the generalization is good for everyone.. and that can be true only in severe cases, i.e. don’t date someone who murdered someone, don’t date someone who threatens others, don’t date someone who has some disgusting believes and practices about your gender… these things are good to share to others, as it may keep others from harm’s way.. but people are sharing “if he reads XYZ book, he is a red flag”, “if he has ambition he is a red flag”, “if he doesn’t has any ambition he is a red flag”, “if he doesn't talk to his mom, he is a red flag” etc…
foremost you yourself can see the contradiction in the sentences itself.. someone likes someone, and other hates that thing… and that is how it should be.. but sharing those views on social media, and influencing others on that view isn’t good..
some of the most successful marriages, we have all seen, have many “red flags”… bcz there is no option that someone doesn’t have something others hate.. but that doesn’t make someone not likable.. when people are accepted, fat, obese people as normal, when they clearly aren’t, bcz they are eating a lot, when people don’t get to eat even a single piece of bread for days, mainly kids, and these people are sick, unhealthy, and to give them treatment a lot of resources will be wasted which can go to good people, people who want to survive, who want to live… when we can justify that, then why can’t we accept people as they are, unless they are harming someone else????
this is precisely the reason most Asian countries are growing up economically to become first-world countries, even though they were supported by us in the earlier days.. these concepts of extreme individuality can only destroy a society, not unify them.. and with the destruction of society comes the destruction of morality, and humanity… everything ends like this.. it is like judging people as a product, and people can say fake things by studying you, and you will be a fool.. like what???
The US is trying too hard to not be superficial.. but that is taking them more toward superficiality..
although everything has its place, and everyone has their choice and preferences, and social media is there to have fun.. we mustn’t forget that this is a society.. there are people who watch these videos and posts to judge themselves.. some men who exercise and have great bodies are criticized for that, and also the others whoa ren’t interested in exercising are criticized for that.. all my POV is that you can have your preferences, but there is no need to share your preferences in social media, just o make others feel bad, or to influence others to believe what you believe or not.. the sudden need to make others, or literally force others to feel what you feel, and forcing them to accept your pov is disgusting.. in any scenario it can never be normal.. it can never be accpeted in any society, country or space…
