THE RECKONING: ZODIAC ACADEMY

 

The third book in the series of Zodiac Academy is THE RECKONING.. 

after spending some time in the greatest academy of fae in Aolaria, Darcy and Tory are on the verge of proving themselves as fae, so that they can continue their education and graduate from the school to claim their inheritance, which they desperately need to have a living.. 

Still, they are not that good with magic, and neither have their order form emerged yet, so they are in deep darkness.  

The previous book ended with the attack of Nymphs on the academy. Several of their classmates were lost in the attack, which was felt in the first half of the book. This gives the readers a context for the reality of the outer world outside of the academy and the reality of a potential war between the fae and the nymphs. 

Darcy and Tory, after showing their huge amount of power in the attack against Nymphs, become the headlines of the local newspapers, with both positive and negative reviews... As usual, the huge amount of power they possess is seen as a threat by some people.. 

Also, we have seen the behavior of the celestial heirs even at the end of the 2nd book haven't changed much.. But in this book, that changes a lot.. We see a lot of weaknesses that Caleb Altair feels for Tory, and the moments he spends longing for her, wanting to get a taste of her.. We also see, the way Seth Capella is sad and grumpy about the loss of one of his pack members, and is trying to initiate Darcy Vega as an omega in his pack, so that he gets someone to spend his time with... 

although Max Rigel, doesn't seem too interested in any of the Vega sisters romantically, we see a lot of Darius's time spent thinking about Tory and wanting her in his arms, which he himself isn't aware of.. and the Caleb Tory situation is causing a huge turmoil in his heart.. 

Along with all of it, we see the young, good-looking professor, Orion, making his moves on Darcy Vega and their getting together.. the tension between them is huge in this book, and the way Darcy gives herself to him in a deep dark night is really thrilling and forbidden, although most anticipated.. 

At the end of the book, the trials start for each element, and not surprisingly, the Vega twins pass each trial with much difficulty, and they are almost the first people to finish each trial.. Although I love this book, it seemed too easy to me for some reason.. Although, we know that vega twins are strong, and they have a special power, I still, wanted to see some trouble they are getting in the trials, which they overcome and prove their worth as a fae.. Which didn't happen.. 

At the end of the book, they also pass the reckoning, with shining colours, and although gave us some insights into their life and mind, it wasn't clear.. Which could have been much better...

At the climax of the book, we see the lunar eclipse, where a huge incident is about to happen, the hint was given to the reader from the beginning of the book, and a huge incident does happen.. Which involves Lionel Acrux and some other influential people.. 

Also, the order forms of the vega twins emerge.. Ending this book in a positive, yet, exciting hook... 

At the end of this, all I can say is that in the ZODIAC ACADEMY,  no book should be judged alone, as it is a series and is supposed to tell us a story in several books, like any other series.. I loved most of the things in this book, but the way the Vega twins are stronger than everyone and are more powerful than everyone else, without putting in any effort seems a little too loose of a plot.. Also, there seems no limitation on their power, which seems a little too simple.. I would have liked to have the twins have power with some limitations, which they have to overcome.. but we still have several books left to read, hopefully, there would be some limitations in their power.. 

I would ask the reader to take the time and try to read the entire series to know what happens at the end.. Take care.. XOXO...
